About the candles
What are Hangry candles made from?
Our candles are made with soy wax, cotton wicks, and fragrance oils specifically formulated for candle use. Each candle is hand-poured in Hillsboro, Oregon.
How big are the candles?
Our standard food-can candles contain approximately 10 oz. of wax.
How long do they burn?
Approximately 60–70 hours when burned and cared for properly.
Are the candles edible?
No. They may smell like pancakes, cake, cereal, fruit, or other things you probably would eat, but they're candles. Please don't eat them.
Made with a safe burn in mind.
We use fragrance oils specifically formulated for candle use and follow established fragrance-safety guidelines and recommended usage levels.
We pair them with soy wax, candle-safe cotton wicks and appropriate containers, then test our candles for proper burning — including flame behavior, melt pool, wick performance and fragrance performance.
We don't describe candles as completely “non-toxic,” because burning anything produces combustion products. Instead, we focus on using materials intended for candle making, following established safety standards and properly testing the finished candle.
Candle care
How should I burn my Hangry candle?
For the first burn, allow the wax to melt across most or all of the surface before extinguishing it. This helps prevent tunneling.
Should I trim the wick?
Yes. Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn.
How long should I burn my candle?
Don't burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Can the can get hot?
Yes. The metal container can become hot while the candle is burning. Always place it on a heat-resistant surface and don't move it while it's burning or while the wax is still liquid.
When should I stop burning it?
Stop using the candle when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom.

Orders typically require 3–5 business days for processing before shipment.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship throughout the United States and Canada.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated at checkout. U.S. orders of $60 or more ship free after discounts.
How does Buy 3, Save $10 work?
Add any three qualifying Hangry Menu candles to your cart and $10 is automatically taken off. No coupon code required.
Do all products count toward Buy 3, Save $10?
No. The promotion applies to qualifying candles in the Hangry Menu. Limited products and Will It Candle? experiments may not qualify.

Yes. Enter their address as the shipping address during checkout.
Can I include a gift message?
Yes. You can add a gift message in your cart before checkout.
Will It Candle?
What is Will It Candle?
Will It Candle? is where we make candles we probably shouldn't. We experiment with unusual containers, ridiculous concepts, unexpected scents, and whatever else seems like a good idea at the time.
Can I buy the candles from Will It Candle?
Sometimes. Some experiments become extremely limited products and others remain experiments. If one is available, you'll find it for sale on the site.
